Note: the text dated August 28, 1997, was recently found in a stack of disks I put up long ago. Since I have recently relocated my site, and have been updating and adding things to this page I thought it appropriate to add this and my current thoughts.

August 28, 1997

Well after all these years, I am finally going to put down on paper my feelings about Stevie Ray Vaughan. today's date is August 28, 1997. Yesterday we played Stevie Ray Vaughan Tunes all day, as we have every year on the 27th of August. don't get me wrong, we don't celebrate the occasion, my wife(Kellie) and I appreciation what Stevie Gave to all of us, so we honor the day by remembering him this way. Stevie is still the most exciting guitar player I have ever the pleasure to listen to. I've been a guitar player since I was 13 (for me it's been an off and on again kind of affair with the guitar),
I remember the first Stevie Ray Vaughan tune I learned "Pride and Joy". I'm still playing it 13 years later and will be 13 years from now.

August 27, 1990

I was on my way to work, August 27, 1990. I had only driven about a mile from home when I switch on the radio and heard the news break, they were talking about the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I pulled off the road and sat there for a long time, stunned. Then I said a prayer for Stevie.

August 27, 1990 was a sad day for Stevie's Family, Friends and music lovers everywhere. We will all remember Stevie in different ways, here's how I will remember Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I have seen his humor on the videos "cold shot" and "Superstition" from the Pride and Joy VHS Tapes, I will remember Stevie this way.
I have witnessed the intensity of his playing on videos of his past performances such as "Live at the El Mocambo" and the 1989 SRV and Double Trouble's Austin City Limits performance from the "box set" DVD, and others and I will remember him this way.

We played SRV and Double Trouble all day today. It's really amazing, the guitar just never tires

I wrote down this quote from Bonnie Raitt a while back with the intentions of putting it somewhere on my site.
Here it is and thank you Bonnie I know it came from your heart.
quote from Bonnie Raitt
"The most lasting memory of Stevie was his passion. I don't think there is anyone who tears into a song like the way he did.
I think Stevie Ray was coming from some place so deep and so beautiful that there's no one you can compare to him."
